Celebrate a High School Graduate’s Accomplishment with an Off-to-School Gift Basket!
Do you know someone who will be graduating from high school this year? An entire new life awaits them at the end of the summer – for many teenagers, college is their first chance to explore day-to-day living virtually unsupervised. A gift basket packed full of dorm-life essentials will be gratefully received, and enjoyed even more as the graduate settles in to his or her new academic career.
Consider including some basic toiletries in your gift basket. Many college students live in dorms with communal showers, for example, so you could build an entire gift basket around a shower tote, complete with towels, washcloths, loofahs, and some great body washes. Don’t forget a pair of flip-flops – trust me, no student ever wants to walk barefoot on that bathroom floor!
You can build another great themed basket around laundry. A lot of students don’t have washers and dryers easily available to them – so you could put together a basket with rolls of quarters for the coin-operated machines, along with laundry detergent and softener, and maybe even a quick how-to guide for the completely uninitiated. And although it might sound weird, college students can never have enough socks – delaying laundry is often the best graduation gift a college student can get!
